Question is....does getting a lot of sun offer the same benefits? I assume that in addition to how much sun exposure one gets via how bright the sun is, time of day it must also matter how much skin is exposed? Hey Vinny, you can get the benefit of shin cancer at the same time! Mountaineer. aka “Fa...

Related question is what are the range of times you have had to spend in the voting process? That is, from when you get out of your car to when you get back into your car during the voting process. Me? It's generally been between 5 and 10 minutes. I could not imagine spending an hour or hours waiti...

Majority of the time you have voted you do or do not have to show an ID to vote. Yes, every time that I can remember, in three different states, I had to state my name and address, they looked it up in their records to verify, then I had to show ID - my driver's license - before going into the voti...

Re: , "Why I got the damn shot and got on with my life".

I'm responding to the title of this thread. Why? Mainly because of: "Love your neighbor as yourself" is a favorite Bible verse about love. It is the anecdote to correcting all negative behaviors toward others. I try to love myself and want to stay around as long as I can. I try to love my neighbors,...

My second shot report.... <snip> When I got home I engaged in about six hours of moving heavy dirt (using a rake) in my garden in preparing the soil. Did not feel any effects from the shot. It was only, about an hour ago, when I was in the kitchen and lifted up my left are did I feel something in t...

I wasn't aware there was a lyme vaccine...will have to look into that. I wonder if it exists for dogs as well
I believe it was discontinued. I had the three recommended doses during the period of 1999 - 2002.

I could have posted this in one of the Covid-19 threads, but I thought it was a better fit for this one. One stance has an extremely negative eternal consequence, the other a potentially mild to extremely negative temporal consequence. So, a vaccine to confer immortality is offered. People who want ...

Sorry to start a new thread, but I didn't want to pollute a decent existing thread. Just wanted to say hello to all the old (in seniority terms, not age) friends and new folks on the forum. I semi-retired a few years back, and decided to depart from most all my online forum activities. It's been a ...

Re: Coronavirus General Discussion

https://catalyst.independent.org/2021/03/24/americans-misinformed-about-covid-hospitalization/ 35% of Americans think if you test positive for Covid you are hospitalized half the time. Incredible. Considering Biden got 45% of the real votes that is not a surprise. Still can't get over that, huh? Th...

Could we just kiss, hug, whatever, and makeup? I know we are all sick of the current situation, but I (used) to think the members of this forum were a cut or two about the fray. Now I am not so sure. Get over it and get over the self righteousness.

Now that I’m on the outside looking in, I’ve made several not so kind observations about rightists. 1) They like to ridicule and belittle people who disagree with them. 2) Rightists come up with derogatory names to make fun of things you do that benefit society. For example, recycling makes you a “...

Where you can channel your Steven Wright https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steven_Wright Your satire (and I am still not 100% sure!) is so concealed that newbies may not figure it out, and like I say, I am still not sure. 95% sure is good enough for ...
