Re: Infinite Banking Concept

I have thought about IBC before, but why not just borrow from your PP and then make payments back to it? Ok, what I learnt is you have to sell the funds (taxable), or your savings part pays very little at bank. a non-direct recognition loan continue pay dividends (currently around 5+%) on your loan...

Re: Infinite Banking Concept

Thanks, AgAuMoney, BearBones, Melveyr. and I really appreciate AgAuMoney for taking times to write his experience with WLs. Here is what I learnt and am still learning: It's for Long Term Wealth accumulations. It does require "construction" stage where traditional whole life would take 12 to 15 year...

Infinite Banking Concept

Anyone ever think about using this IBC as CASH part, or supplement part of PPs? It's about using Dividend Paying Whole Life insurance as a tool to accumulate savings, as a low risk asset class. I googled and found MachineGhost first started it here: http://gyroscopicinvesting.com/forum/http://77.104...

WildAboutHarry:

when you link your Trust at TreasuryDirect to your bank account, does your bank account has to be a trust account as well?
or is it ok to link the same individual bank account to both individual and trust at TreasuryDirect?

Thanks, Greg:
looks like we can pull from places other than tsp.gov. But multi websites would help, like you said, if one of them stop working.

Selling LTTs on secondary market

Gumby or anyone: You mentioned in your tutorial that using limit order on selling LTTs. I tried to sell the bonds using limit orders at Fidelity. First I set the price a bit higher than Ask price (real time quote at lower right hand), Fidelity cancelled it after a min. Then I set the price exactly a...

Re: Treasury Bond Buying Tutorial

[quote="Gumby"] [quote="foglifter"] However, I would definitely recommend that you use a limit order when selling your bonds . That way you get the price that you want. The next Oct rate is better and I redeem this I Bond after 11 months and re-buy new one, I end up with 10K total; If there is no rate change and I keep it, can I buy another 10K I Bond? if yes, then I would end u...

Re: PERM vs. PRPFX - which is best?

Ally is up to 0.95%, which is kinda nice. Incidentally, I use PRPFX as short term savings as well.  Even if it underperforms the 4x25 PP because of the expense ratio, it still beats any cash savings vehicle you could name.  Although, I'm thinking that once the PP gets large enough that the cash pos...

Re: Fidelity Cash Options?

did anyone actually sell T-Bills/Bonds at Schwab online and no fee?
I haven't, but did both online chat and email confirming that you can't sell them online yourselves therefore you need to call for that, thus incurring charge of $25 for phone assistance.
