I think the deciding factor comes down to what tax bracket, VTSMX being generally considered superior except for the top tax brackets, I forget the cross over point.

Re: Proposal To Change This Section To "Other Lazy Portfolios"

It is fine by me.  I do believe there is a manager in Australia that mangers money for others with a PP approach as well as at least one hedge fund that has a similar but modified approach, in a similar manner how PRPFX is not really 25x4 any more either.  Another option would be to add a second sub...

Some times I wonder about the new adjuvants and related technology they are bringing into the mix that will show problems more distinctly further down the road.  Although I identify with one side of this argument, I do think there is a small area of uncertainty.  Also, just think about the flu vacci...

The Next Asset to Perform?

Recently I have been living in fear, complete terror.  Or maybe not.  I have been recommending, well not recommending much actually.  I have been finding the correction I anticipated in the recent past has come to pass with most things returning to the mean.  Of course as someone originally measurin...

So is there a group consensus on specific funds that would be superior to VTI? And if so, superior in what way/for what reason?
Thank you

Are you confusing the role of the PP w that of the VP? Why not keep money you can't lose in the PP and allocate that which is more discretionary to a VP? Because i am not a sheep of HB. Well whether you are a sheep, goat, or donkey, I have no idea... However, you seem to be a bit confused about som...

Re: What are your favorite online news sources?

Seems to me all main stream news sources are biased, leaning to some degree on various topics.  An insightful exercise is to note which organization one feels is not (or the least) biased.  The bias of that organization tends to match one's personal bias imho.

What economic state are we in? Prosperity?  Recession?  Inflation?  Deflation? deflation Ding, Ding, Ding, we have a winner imho. I think without the manipulation of markets through interest rates, this would be painfully obvious to all.  This central planning that adjusting interest rates to move ...

Just noticed this thread.  I'm gonna have to take the same position I do with paying down mortgage debt. 1) The REAL problem is people taking this debt on without properly calculating its benefit to them.  It either makes strategic sense to take on marginal debt for a marginal benefit, or it does n...
