Re: This is the best time in 45 years to invest in the Permanent Portfolio

I, too, must confess that I am no longer a user of the pure PP. There are just too many new developments, methodologies, investment paradigms, and considerations for me to warrant sticking with it. I follow the strategy in my avatar. I genuinely believe that this is not capitulation, but rather an e...

Re: New interview with Craig Rowland

I can't get over the fact that my fiancé is into me.

Like... how?

Anyway, I wonder if Craig will change his position on Bitcoin in, say, a decade's time.

Re: Daily "Check In" Thread For Us

The missus and I are going to an amusement park tonight for roller coasters, cotton candy, and the usual fare. It's been years since I've been on a roller coaster... my mind will probably be making all kinds of analogies about the market being a roller coaster. Last time I was on a roller coaster i...

Yikes, dualstow, is everything okay? ???

Today I'm doing some work on these courses I'm taking, then continuing with the video game project. The missus and I are also playing The Sims in our spare time... such a great way to spend time with a lady friend!

Re: Daily "Check In" Thread For Us

Cool. Will there be Harry Browne easter eggs? How far along are you with the book? I axed the book project and decided to just make it into a website. A book takes more time and effort, and ironically it will probably get less readership than a simple website that's offered online for anyone to rea...

Re: Daily "Check In" Thread For Us

I'm turning my next programming adventures to video game design. I'd like to make a 2D RPG in the style of Stardew Valley. The missus says she'd be happy with the artwork while I handle the programming side. I'll keep you guys updated on this new project. Right now I'm looking at this framework to g...

Honestly I’m surprised there isn’t a thread on the knuckleheads forum right now where they’re all trying to convince themselves that gold is just a bubble… for the past 5000 years.

GDevelop

Does anyone have experience with GDevelop? It's a game development platform for indies and small development teams. I was thinking of using it to try my hand at game development. Any opinions?

Maybe you can ask Jack Jones about Ruby on Rails. He doesn’t seem to talk to be directly these days, but he appears to know a lot of computery stuff. (e.g. gave me tips on emacs).
I've literally never used emacs and now I feel like I should lose my nerd status over that.

My lovely fiance did the following today: handcuffed me to the bed, replaced the filling in the oreos with toothpaste, and replaced the toothpaste in the tube with mayo.
