Re: The Olympics

Maybe it's not so cut-and-dried after all? Apparently the "vandalism" was much less severe than reported, and the actions of the off-duty policemen who were the security guards very well might have constituted robbery: http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/olympics/rio-2016/2016/08/21/investigation-...

Re: What would the PP look like without fiat currency and central banks?

Sorry dude, my read of history indicates the guys with guns always win. If government doesn't matter why are there so many lobbyists? Any thinking person understands government defines the capitalist goal posts and field size. This has never not been true. So back to my initial comment: useless hyp...

Re: The Olympics

I agree with dualstow's description. Yeah, me too. Thanks for posting that. What jerks all the way around. Ugly American swimmers. Those guys look like a bunch of obnoxious sneering entitled frat guys. Phelps has the right idea with his Andy-Griffith-as-a-pot-smoking-young-man persona. People love ...

Re: Scott Burns' Co on the PP

When the PP book first came out (almost 4 years ago!), Scott Burns and I exchanged a few emails and he was very kind and supportive of our work.

Scott Burns is a great guy. I started reading his column in the '80s and he influenced my thinking about investing a lot.

Re: The Olympics

I assumed Kriegsspiel was referring to the Munich attack, as opposed to earlier examples of hand shaking refusals. Ha, could be, but that was a looong time ago. Which was it, K? Refusal to fight (not just shake hands) or Munich? Refusing to shake an opponent's hand when it is customary because of t...

Re: The Olympics

After seeing what other Arabs have done to avoid even competing against Israelis, I'd call this progress. True. I remember at least one judoka declining to fight in past years. I think he was Jordanian, and they're one of the milder countries. My guess is that it was not just a personal decision, b...

I've gotta hand it to the Native Americans, they really do use every part of the cigarette.

Re: Figuring Out Religion

my hunch is that all the religions from all the different cultures, and all the different time periods, all the different languages and terminologies, with all there different mythologies and metaphors, are all originally manuals for teaching people how to work toward, and hopefully achieve that "e...

Re: I'm a Tube Amp Convert

Sadly, I just use 12 gauge zip wire I bought at the hardware store to hookup my speakers. I'm wondering if it's causing electron misalignment and I should upgrade? It wouldn't surprise me at all if you were suffering from electron misalignment. Only expensive cables can properly align the electrons...
