Re: Is your pp passing the coronavirus test?
For me it was no intellect at all as I didn't have enough brain to figure something else. So, I was one of very few who listen to friends's advise about PP.
I'm totally thankful to him :-)

This is what the book says. Actually up to 35%. :-)I Shrugged wrote: ↑Tue Mar 24, 2020 3:11 pmI can’t foresee any good reason to sell gold in the PP. Say it goes up to 40% of your PP. You really want to rebalance out? I don’t think I could.

Re: Stock scream room
if someone like Ugly Bird hasn't hit their bands yet then by all means carry on. Thanks! :-) I think the reason I didn't hit the bands (15/35 4x25 HBPP) and actually quite far from those (Stocks are lurking at around 20%) because I do not rebalance annually and do not even remember when I did last ...

Re: Stock scream room
For anyone that has been on the fence about rebalancing, tomorrow is probably a good day to do so. It is monthly options expiration. This selloff started the very first day after Feb options expiration for a reason. Dealers were positive gamma before then, and that pinned the indexes up. This month...

Re: Are you "staying the course"?
Do you all plan on staying the course? Yes, I do. I just do not understand finances well and PP is the only thing I can do more or less comfortably I did not rebalance for long time (was within 15/35 bands) At this point my 4x25 HBPP looks like. Stocks 21.1% LTT 24.3% Cash 29.8% Gold 24.8%

Re: Stock scream room
Still holding off on rebalancing. I decided I wanted to see my rebalance indicator be "yes" two days in a row, because it's going to take a bit of time for me to gather all the data from the various accounts and determine how best to rebalance. I don't imagine for a minute that I'll be able to gues...

Yes, thank you Craig for your insights - as always! This forum is a key piece of support for people interested in the PP or its variants, and it's important to keep it going. At least to me! I'm sure a lot of people will jump on the PP bandwagon, like lawyers chasing ambulances, but of course it's ...

Is is possible that gold is loosing because the investors want to free up cash to buy stocks, which can stop plummeting any moment if the fear goes away?Cortopassi wrote: ↑Fri Feb 28, 2020 8:20 amI was wondering what your thoughts are over the past 2-3 days where gold has languished.

Re: HSA
Even if you have a lot of medical expenses, my understanding is that if you have a big enough cash cushion in your taxable accounts, you can potentially come out ahead by using taxable cash to pay all of your medical bills and letting your HSA grow tax-free for as long as possible (then eventually ...

Re: HSA
Do any of you who aren't yet retired use your HSA to pay current medical expenses? Or do you use taxable accounts for current medical expenses and just use your HSA as a long-term savings vehicle to eventually be used in retirement? I've had HSAs for several years now and have always used them for ...

Re: HSA
Once you have an HSA, you can keep track of all out of pocket medical costs that could have been paid for thru the HSA, but pay the bills with other money. The money can then be withdrawn in retirement in excess of current medical expenses up to the amount previously incurred but not used, i.e., yo...
