Just noticed Texas Precious Metals is also out of silver. They are effectively out of business for a while. The CEO, Tarak Saab has posted the following:

Precious metal coins no longer available
I've read the US Mint is completely out of silver eagles. If you can find any silver eagles to buy, online premiums have skyrocketed. Same thing with gold coins. For example, Texas Precious Metals to completely sold out of gold. Absolutely amazing! https://www.texmetals.com/products/gold-coins And y...

Anyone Else Prepping?
I've stocked our cupboards with canned fruit, vegetables, seafood (oysters, clams, salmon, sardines) and canned soup, etc. I'm not worried about stores running out of food - I'm thinking if coronavirus is rampant, it's probably a good idea not to go to the grocery store anymore. I also went to a vet...

Something must have happened to Dr Fuhrman. I remember him being a rather militant vegan. Now he's recommending eating some dairy, fish and red meat?!?!
I guess he's a recovering vegetarian.

Exactly. I'm sure there isn't a single politician or central banker who wants a return to a gold standard. However, they may not have any other choice. It may well be forced on them.Libertarian666 wrote: ↑Sun Nov 24, 2019 4:42 pmNo one expects a return to the gold standard... until it happens.

That would not be Constitutional: https://www.heritage.org/constitution/#!/articles/1/essays/70/state-coinage But recognizing privately minted coins as legal tender would be perfectly Constitutional. I'm pretty sure they are going to do that. I have also heard that they have plans to issue debit an...

Do you know of any plans for Texas to strike their own gold coins? , and if challenged by Texas, it is likely they can’t enforce capital gains tax ... We need a test case for this one! I visited the depository a couple weeks ago. Re: Texas Statewide Proposition 9, November 2019 Election
I think you are all deluding yourselves if you think that if the US government wants to seize or tax your gold that holding it in TX or AU or anywhere else is going to matter. See FACTA. That has worked so well that the Swiss banking cartel basically quit offering US accounts. You also underestimat...

I have no idea where she will get that money but a 100 percent ad valorem tax on gold wherever she can get her hands on it it will probably be way more easy to get from the Texas depository than the Perth Mint. Libertarian666 gave a good reply to this, but I'd also like to point out that while the ...

Re: Texas Bullion Depository is the Best Way to Protect Your Gold
FarmerD, full.disclosure please. Not sure if you're serious but I have no financial interest in any company connected with the depository. I had made several inquiries into storing gold in a safe deposit box in the Singapore Freeport but the more I researched the legal aspects of a state run gold-b...

Re: Texas Bullion Depository is the Best Way to Protect Your Gold
I don’t think the IRS has ever said that allocated overseas gold is subject to those reporting laws. All I’ve seen is CYA advice offered by third parties. You don't have to file FBAR or FATCA if you directly own the gold in a safe deposit box and nobody else can access it. However, Perth Mint can a...

Re: Texas Bullion Depository is the Best Way to Protect Your Gold
In a nutshell: States have constitutionally protected rights to create a gold backed currency. As such it’s extremely unlikely the Feds can seize the gold at the depository, force sale of gold at the depository to the Feds, and if challenged by Texas, it is likely they can’t enforce capital gains ta...

Re: Texas Bullion Depository is the Best Way to Protect Your Gold
It appears Texas is following the outline laid out by Dr Edwin Vieira, a constitutional law expert who has argued several cases before the Supreme Court. In the following videos (which are absolutely fascinating), Vieira describes his ideas on a state run gold-backed currency. 1. A state gold-backed...

Re: Texas Bullion Depository is the Best Way to Protect Your Gold
Sounds wonderful, every time I've looked at it, it's too costly compared to an insured safe deposit box. The cost for the Depository is 0.5% annually while the safe deposit box insurance is about 0.2% annually. Keep in mind however, the entire reason Harry Browne recommended geographic diversificat...

Texas Bullion Depository is the Best Way to Protect Your Gold
I'm going to argue the Texas Bullion Depository is a far better option than any other geographical diversification idea. The past few months I’ve done a deep dive on storing gold in the Texas Bullion Depository as well as the implications of creating a state gold-backed currency. Very few people und...

I've used EDV for the past 8 years for all my long bonds. Keep in mind EDV is about 50% more volatile than TLT so you need less of it to balance out your stock holdings. Craig, Tex and others have discussed before so review the older posts in the bond section.

Coin Premiums Dropping Fast
You'd think with the recent rise in gold, coin premiums might be up. However, the opposite seems to be happening. I guess it's just supply and demand. For some reason people have stopped buying coins and inventories are bulging so coin sellers are dumping. Last week I bought some 1 oz Kangeroos at s...

Gold Eagle Premiums Falling
I've read the US Mint coin sales for silver Eagles and Gold eagles are at 10 year lows. That probably accounts for the big drop in premiums. For example, right now, Gainesville Coins has 1 oz Gold eagles on sale for $14.99 over spot. I've never seen a premium that low in the 10+ years I've followed ...

I saw today gold and silver were down today but CEF was up almost 3%. I figured something was up and apparently there is. Looks like Sprott is seeking to acquire the Central Fund of Canada much like they did to GTU recently. As of COB yesterday, CEF's price was 12.27 while it's NAV was listed as 13....
