WiseOne,
Since I had the experience of eliminating meat and finding my jogging ability improved, is that just me? And is no correlation indicated?
Thanks.

Re: Carnivore Diet Experiment
We visited Normandy in 2017, just days before D-Day ceremonies. Even the anticipatory build up to the day was fascinating. Our guide rented his whole B & B to his buddies from the Netherlands Airborne. A photo of DW with the paratroopers and her wearing one of their helmets was great- and they were ...

Re: Knuckleheads PP thread resurrected
I believe last year someone suggested if/when CraigR or Medium Tex post, people should jump in their cars and track them down. Time was of the essence then. Might have to take one of the idled cruise ships to find CraigR.
Maybe with the virus inconvenience, just let it go for now.

Bathroom visit? No! I imagine dehydration stopped that inconvenience. But I ate a stack of pancakes once before a run and felt like death-warmed-over. Do not do that.

Re: Carnivore Diet Experiment
At age 27, I ate a vegetarian diet through the winter. When I was in my 20s, I routinely ran 3 to 5 miles per day during warm weather. On a mid-March day, following my new "no meat" diet, I went out for a 2 mile jog to begin the new season. The jog was glorious. I raced around the track. In the prio...

Re: The cars we love/hate & the cars we may buy.
Looks like I will get the repaint on the 30 year old Accord. Question: Is it worth spending an extra $500 to get rust cut out in two areas immediately beyond the rear wheel wells? The cost might be less. The car will look nice after the paint job. If I also get the rust cut out, the car will be welc...

And that retained cash can be pretty handy. I can always get another new/newish car that requires collision coverage. I would like to get a new Tesla in 4 years. In the interim, I hope to have that solid 25% that Harry talked about. It won't be deep cash, though. BTW, i believe that Harry Browne fan...

Re: The cars we love/hate & the cars we may buy.
Re the paint job: The car is like an adopted child, at this point. Any paint job and body work would fit nicely into a declining level of average annual maintenance expenditures. Funny thing, the mechanic said my steel car would withstand a collision better than a current car. The chiropractor, whil...

Re: The cars we love/hate & the cars we may buy.
If I were to buy a Camry tomorrow, I would skip the unnecessary paint job. I would like to keep it 4 more years. To watch it fade is unpleasant. And those non-fading glass headlights! There are two rust pockets behind the rear wheel wells that are still yet to break through to the surface. The two a...

Re: The cars we love/hate & the cars we may buy.
Last I posted, I noted my last tank of gas dropped from 29 down to 22MPG. False alarm: in mixed driving I am back at 29MPG. All is good. The situation now presents me with a decision on repainting my 1991 Accord with 358,100 miles. I got rear-ended at a red light 2 and 1/2 weeks ago. We are ok. Curi...

MJ,
I noted you clarified your portfolio values saying all 4 parts had 7 digits. Tech asked clarification and you confirmed that, yes, each part had 7 digits to the left of the decimal point.

Pug, I'm at the 6-month mark for visiting the dentist. We hope to fly up for Thanksgiving but I don't know. This is uncharted territory and I don't like it. Listerine does some nice work per your suggestion. On the lighter side, I note you are a Tesla owner. I am envious. In my last six gas station ...

WiseOne, et al, Which oils do you use, if any? We are using grape seed oil presently. One of the joys of our former Manhattan life was Fairway Market's explanations and selections of oils. We don't have that now. Can "organic" be trusted when using safflower oil or sunflower oil? I only bought olive...

Agreed that MLB and other sports organizations may have future problems with attendance, etc. I can't seem to find the excitement over the baseball season starting soon. If Aaron Judge can't stay on the field, my interest further decreases. Anyone here play Strat-o-matic Baseball in decades gone by?...

Re: The cars we love/hate & the cars we may buy.
The tires are good at 34 PSI. So, it's chat with the mechanic and/or wait for the next visit to the gas pump. Is a used Camry listed on Cargurus better than a new Tesla 3 for $23 to $24,000 more in price? The little voice tells me the Camry is the better choice. If the car were for me alone, I'd get...

Re: The cars we love/hate & the cars we may buy.
Mark, Pretty fastidious on the fill-ups. I always watch MPG to get an "early warning." You may be on to something, though. I'll see about the next tankful and, probably, stop and ask the mechanic. Vinnie, I'm usually on top of the tire PSI but it's been 2 weeks. I'll check later today. Cheers. P.S. ...

Re: The cars we love/hate & the cars we may buy.
Just filled the gas tank and surprisingly, MPG dropped to 22 from the usual 29 to 31MPG. Car's running well and my mix of highway/local and stop-and-go has not changed. The needle dropped too fast compared to the trip odometer this fill-up.
Any thoughts? Thanks.

A piece of exhaust pipe needed a weld. The owner did it in ten minutes. All of $20 and I gave him a five as a thank you. If I had a ten, that might have been better. Tipping is an art form. Still learning. A Tesla Model 3 in four years may work out well but for now the Accord's clear coat on the roo...
