And Harry Dent says gold down to $250. Not dull at all>
Jim Rogers says he would like to buy gold <$1,000, a 50% retracement.
In 20 years, I found standing still is often beneficial.

Re: How to answer this question?
THanks.
I have more questions. As I digest this with another read later, I will get back.
Exploring variations on the 4x25 PP is interesting.
Cheers

dragoncar, You certainly can get a home for under $400K. Suffolk County, Long Island, in the southern half. The schools are more likely to be a trial. The better schools are in closer Nassau County. The Bronx, where I grew up should have a selection under $400K but check with the local police pr...

Re: Shareholder activists are trying to unlock the NAV discount on GTU
So, is GTU, with its discounts and premiums to NAV, like a gold mining stock which may rise or fall based on investor sentiment re bullion prospects? If GTU is similar to a gold mining stock, just how similar or different?
Thanks.
Thanks.

So now that I understand premiums and discounts to NAV a little bit better, is GTU a great place to be?

Re: Shareholder activists are trying to unlock the NAV discount on GTU
People,
I need educating, please.
I have heard about these discounts and premiums vs. NAV. Does that mean, for example, that GTU cannot shoot to the moon if bullion rises to $10,000, and not plummet approximately 80% if bullion drops to $250/ oz?
Any input is appreciated.
Thanks,
Bedraggled

Mike59: good point when you suggested these studies could start at the bull top and then run it out.
Thanks

Greetings,
Mark Leavy nailed it. I got my wife a macbook air 3 1/2 years ago. She uses it all the time. I do not get to use it often. Apple may throw in a free printer.
Macbook air is definitely a winner.
Good luck.

Re: PP for European Investors (once again)
I don't think the Dollar has gone parabolic yet but if the 10 year chart for DXY is examined, there might be a time for a 5% correction. Early April, maybe? If that happens, the Dollar then just may resume its merry romp. If US Treasuries are paying 2.6%, does that mean there is capital gains poten...

MG,
Good point and it all may happen anyway. Does the cyclical nature of things demand deflation?
Bummer if deflation is required. We may need to accommodate. As I suggested, negative interest rates in USA? Is the party on for TLT?
Cheers,all and thanks, MG!

rickb and MG,
Thanks. As I suggested, I have much to learn.
You PP pros teach me much.
This gives me the chance to go with Winnie on a Grand Explore!
I must take a "hony" pot to sustain myself.
Again, you folks are a challenge. Time to read those rickb articles
Cheers!

MG,
Could it be that our Dollar is stronger because we are in deflation?
CRB, CU, OIL and DXY suggest deflation.
Negative interest rates, here we come?
Thanks.

Individual shares ownership vs. index funds
FYI.
Brett Arends, on CBSMarketwatch.com makes a case for owning 50 individual stocks as opposed to, say, VTI. Maybe like buying gold coins rather than SGOL.
Buy stocks for $500, the cost of a new i-pad! He suggests a better return, too.
Let me know. I have learned much here since September.

Since we are citizens/ residents of USA, and living in USA to boot, does that not mean we are in for favorable times? Speaking narrowly, as we have USD in our wallets and not Euros.
Thanks.
