Once a year? When asset percentages deviate from your targets by a certain percentage?

I generally use 20%/30% bands.. or honestly, sometimes when I'm just restless.

Most of my assets are in tax-benefitted accounts though.

If I was mostly taxable I'd use 15%/35% and probably end up leaving it alone for years at a time.

Mine's all taxable, and I haven't rebalanced yet (I think I'm 4 years in, now?). However, I have been adding by buying the lagging asset, which has certainly influenced things a bit.

At the moment, my mental model is 15/35% bands only -- no time-based triggers.
