Bond concern...

Post by edamat »

this decline in stocks has not had a corresponding bump up in bonds ... any concerns?

I don't see anything unusual happening right now.

The portfolio is down 2% or so in October.

If you're new to the strategy it may feel unpleasant, but this kind of fluctuation is like a little turbulence on a flight--it doesn't mean the plane is going to crash.

It's a low volatility strategy, not a no volatility strategy.

Nah.  I interpret this as investors pulling money out of the market and holding it in cash.  Whether it's because of the upcoming Presidential election, people getting worried about the fiscal cliff, concerns over the European recession - who knows.  Eventually they'll buy back into the market, and up the PP will go.  It might be a while before that happens though.
