Precious metal miners, silver

I'm cautiously optimistic this morning that a near-term bottom is in for silver. Gld up very nicely, and SLV is outperforming that. More importantly, paas is having a tremendous bounce today. Also, gdx up very strongly.

Also newmont. Up over 7%. One of the biggest gold miners in the world.

Any thoughts why?

I spent years in GDX and GDXJ about a decade ago. Pretty sure most all the transactions are still being worked off on my capital losses....

"buy the rumor, sell the news" .... In regards to Fed tapering.

Precious metals are vastly and massively undervalued, simply in proportion to currency debasement. Seeing the biggest producers move like penny stocks is kind of exciting, to me it suggest the bottom is being carved out.

I feel a lot better today about having switched half of my PP metal position into senior producers.
