A cheap version of Universa Investments

Post by ppnewbie »

If I could figure this out or a poor man's version of this tail risk hedge, it would be my new strategy to protect my taxable stock portfolio.

Here is a good link to a summary of Spitznagel's book.

Sounds like you have been trying to find way to hedge your taxable stock.

Do you have retirement accounts that you can use to balance it with gold and bonds?

Would your taxes be so bad if you just sold a little to increase your cash to comfortable level?

Good questions. I created a GB in my 401k but the taxable is almost all stocks. I think I am going to sell some stock and buy some more physical gold and store more cash. Or if I can figure it out and be comfortable with it, buy LEAP puts.
