Japanes 10 year bond yields and Japanese housing market:

Line up pretty well... interesting that they had a 15 year housing slump... the first few years were extremely fast... the next decade-plus was relatively slow.

Also, I read that their current mortgage rates are less than 3%.

Doesn't Japan have 100 year mortgages?

How much would that suck?  That's got to be about the same as renting, except you have all the responsibility that the landlord normally has (including risk of a decline in value).
