there was an episode on the show swat which wasn’t so far off from what could happen .
a precious metals dealer was furnishing a safe installation company with leads .
they would tell them how much gold was purchased so they can size an appropriate safe and call a potential client to see if they were interest in a safe .
the potential client would say he either had one already , wanted one or wasn’t going to keep the gold at home .
a unscrupulous employee would use that information
the ones that were keeping it at at home had home invasions and the gold stollen and they were murdered so as to leave no witness .
not so far fetched

I added ounces to the safe deposit box recently.
I sleep better at night ever since I bought insurance. It’s cheap.

2 separate items? You bought some form of insurance for the contents of the safe deposit box?

P.S. I probably mentioned it before: I feel antsy when I read in the policy that they don't cover 'mysterious disappearance.'
However, I understand that they have to do this: what if one spouse empties a box without the other's knowledge?

What does not constitute "mysterious disappearance"?
An obvious physical break-in? Happening to others at the same time?

Seizure/confiscation.
Some forms of damage are covered.
And I suppose mishandling by the bank, if they own up to it.
