Re: Kat Klub
Ha, Lily.
WiseOne, everybody- do your cats behave when you have to remove their eye gunk? For the first time, ours has a serious case of it, and we need to get it out so she doesn't get an infection. But she is so resistant. She becomes one violent muscle, with claws.

Re: Kat Klub
My cats used to hate any form of grooming, so I feel you on that one! Thank heavens they're more tolerant now that they're older.
Try distracting her with a treat? Get her munching on it then swipe at her eye in those few seconds. Next to try, if you sit behind the cat (to block escape) and hold her firmly on the back of the neck/upper shoulders, she will howl and complain but generally won't move. If that fails, put the kitty in a towel burrito (there are youtube videos to show you how), have one person hold the kitty, and the other one do the work.

Same here for my three. Reason why I've not trimmed their nails for too many months.dualstow wrote: ↑Wed Apr 08, 2020 9:18 amHa, Lily.

Back on topic!
A few moments ago just as I was going to be doing my maximum weight Bench Presses (using uncollared weights) one of my cats decided to jump on my chest!

Re: Kat Klub
Not in that particular exercise. One of the other cats attempts to help out on the pushups by getting on my back. In that case it does add weight to that exercise!

Draw me like one of your French girls.
(Also, adding sepia tone like it’s 2006.)

Re: Kat Klub
Do you ever try to hold still so she doesn’t bolt? When my cat chooses to be in my lap, it’s can be for up to an hour, but sometimes just five minutes. I stop moving, and as a result, I feel like I lose all blood circulation by the time she jumps off. Probably not a healthy lifestyle.

Yup! I feel like I can't move otherwise I'll lose the kitten love, which of course would be unacceptable haha.dualstow wrote: ↑Wed Apr 08, 2020 8:19 pmDo you ever try to hold still so she doesn’t bolt? Re: Kat Klub
Smith, what are the camera/lens details on the photo at the top of this page?
Re: Kat Klub
iPhone 7 Plus using portrait mode!

Re: Kat Klub
Ah, these iPhone (and other smartphone) cameras really have gotten great, haven't they? I have an iPhone XS, but it felt too big for me to comfortably use one-handed, so I switched back to a smaller iPhone SE. But I think I'm going to move back up to a newer model to get the better camera, because my XS's camera was *SO* much better than my SE's.

Yeah, it's really quite amazing! Especially when one considers that this iPhone is from 2017. Not exactly the cutting edge anymore.Mark Leavy wrote: ↑Thu Apr 09, 2020 7:51 pm
Great bokeh! I wonder if it is done in software. I wouldn't have thought that the lens would have that level of aperture control.
Obviously, I've never tried portrait mode with my phone. I'll have to run some tests...
I still remember my first digital camera from the early 2000s that had something like a 128MB memory card and a 0.8 megapixel resolution.
EDIT: Mark, the 7 Plus has dual lenses as part of the hardware spec. Apparently this was specifically for the implementation of portrait mode/bokeh.
I still find the James Rickards portfolio fascinating.
Re: Kat Klub
Now I have tech envy. I've always liked my SE, but the cameras on the new models do seem like a major upgrade.CT-Scott wrote: ↑Thu Apr 09, 2020 7:49 pmAh, these iPhone (and other smartphone) cameras really have gotten great, haven't they? Re: Kat Klub
An immediate winner!
Just love black cats as witnessed by having one all black, one all black except some tiny white, and one three colored with a lot of black.
Now that your cat has been revealed going to need more than just this one picture!
