Do you ever try to hold still so she doesn’t bolt? When my cat chooses to be in my lap, it’s can be for up to an hour, but sometimes just five minutes. I stop moving, and as a result, I feel like I lose all blood circulation by the time she jumps off. Probably not a healthy lifestyle.

Yup! I feel like I can't move otherwise I'll lose the kitten love, which of course would be unacceptable haha.

Ah, these iPhone (and other smartphone) cameras really have gotten great, haven't they? I have an iPhone XS, but it felt too big for me to comfortably use one-handed, so I switched back to a smaller iPhone SE. But I think I'm going to move back up to a newer model to get the better camera, because my XS's camera was *SO* much better than my SE's.

Great bokeh! I wonder if it is done in software. I wouldn't have thought that the lens would have that level of aperture control.
Obviously, I've never tried portrait mode with my phone. I'll have to run some tests...

Yeah, it's really quite amazing! Especially when one considers that this iPhone is from 2017. Not exactly the cutting edge anymore.

I still remember my first digital camera from the early 2000s that had something like a 128MB memory card and a 0.8 megapixel resolution.

EDIT: Mark, the 7 Plus has dual lenses as part of the hardware spec. Apparently this was specifically for the implementation of portrait mode/bokeh.

Now I have tech envy. ;D I've always liked my SE, but the cameras on the new models do seem like a major upgrade.

An immediate winner!

Just love black cats as witnessed by having one all black, one all black except some tiny white, and one three colored with a lot of black.

Now that your cat has been revealed going to need more than just this one picture!

Now comparing yours to my Mink it seems they have different shaped heads. And, yours has the shape of some distinctive breed, like a Siamese? Or, not. But certainly some breed. NOT a common cat.

He's a stray that showed up and adopted us a few years ago, so I'm not sure about the breed. But now that you mention it, I wouldn't be surprised at all if he's at least part Siamese. It's by far the most affectionate and vocal cat I've ever known.

Your last sentence describes traits of Siamese. I love them!

I've been meaning to mention -- my cat has a very interesting assortment of vocalizations. The meow is there, but she often chirps like some kind of cute insect. She's got a special sound for everything. When she really gets going, it sounds like R2-D2 is in the house. I wish I still had my audio recording setup.

Yes, Tyler!

Your cat does have the classic Siamese head shape! Consider yourself fortunate you have any part Siamese cat in your life!

I would agree, but the breed has grown on me since seeing it animated in one of my favourite shows. I now see them as rather endearing. ;D
