After seeing several stories about how wildlife is reclaiming cities that have been stilled by quarantine, I'm very concerned about my town. With the amount of feral cats pre-shutdown, I can see them commanding large sections of turf when people emerge from their homes.
I imagine a fight tougher than Stalingrad to displace them. I'm not sure we'll have enough ammo. I ask for your prayers in the upcoming struggle.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I still have no idea what creature is coming into my garage to eat the old, old, old ferret food I put in a bowl. Did not want it to go to waste and glad its turning into value for some creature. Every few days I refill the bowl.

My neighbor does the same. I remember hearing a screeching noise, looking out the window, and seeing the recipient of her good will thanking her very loudly, with upraised hair and fangs out, between her and her car she was trying to get to.

I shouldn’t put this in the same post as Charlie, but as a teenager I saw this B-movie called Corpsegrinders. It was mostly about how cats accidentally got a taste of human flesh and then were instantly crazy for more. Some news reports of attacks by feral cats are not that different from select scenes.

It's not even debatable anymore. All cats must be killed to prevent further spread.
Though, to be fair, this article is on CNN and likely isn't accurate. Still, I think all cats should be socially distanced (if not fully quarantined) from humans, indefinitely, as a precautionary measure.
You should get yourself a tiger, Kriegs. Gotta do something with the excess meat in your freezer, anyway. And it’ll keep the feral cats away! What could go wrong.

I've not let any of my cats out since 1984 - 36 years ago. Therefore the only outside source of anything getting into this house is ME!

I could see toxoplasmisis being beneficial in a hit man.
"the personality of infected men showed lower superego strength (rule consciousness) and higher vigilance (factors G and L on Cattell's 16PF). Thus, the men were more likely to disregard rules and were more expedient, suspicious, jealous, and dogmatic." link

To this day I'm still a little disappointed that we didn't name her Oreo... perhaps that was just a little too predictable? Hmmmmm.
Growing up, my brother and I had at least 13 nicknames for one of our cats. Hard to stick with one once you get to know them.
My cat's in a box on my desk, getting some sun. My (other) faithful companion.

I'd argue that the risk is minimal because, unlike dogs, most cats tend to practice social distancing anyway.

Just read that there are 60 million feral cats in the United States and 100 million globally.
That would mean 1.2 million per state if equally distributed. I wonder it is one of them that comes to eat the ferret food I leave out in my garage.

Possibly. I hear there are Democratic cats (Want free food) and Republican cats (hunt their own food).
DNA has its own language (code), and language requires intelligence. There is no known mechanism by which matter can give birth to information, let alone language. It is unreasonable to believe the world could have happened by chance.
I'm a bit surprised in this Kat thread that no one has mentioned the passing of Honor Blackman.
The name is James, James Bond.

She was briefly in my sig. Pussy Galore + the zoo tiger + Detroit’s “Mr Tiger.” Rough week for cats.
Edit: whoops, she’s still in there. I guess the font I chose is too light.
Btw, it’s Bond James Bond not James James...
