Then you definitely buck the trend on this forum. Several of us here are white/caucasian guys who have an Asian wife or girlfriend: Me, dualstow, Corto, and (I think) pp4me, to name a few.

Tortoise said that Smith was bucking the trend. I think what you’re forgetting here is that ‘bucking’ already presents a negative.
You then said, “Not unless...” which would mean Smith is not bucking the trend unless opposites attract.
That makes no sense. If the trend is ‘opposites attract’, Smith is very much a part of the trend, not bucking it.

You could replace ‘unless’ with ‘if’, and say “Not if the trend is opposites attract.’ that would make sense.

I much preferred the one that I encountered when I first got here and which lasted for a long, long time. The tortoise and the hare. Seemed like the perfect image for a Permanent Portfolio forum. I was disappointed when it was no longer. Also, was semi-shocked to see the Mountaineer's long standing one suddenly change and then seemingly undergo frequent changes. On the other hand, have always enjoyed Smith1776's frequent changes.

This is what I looked like when living in West Virginia, and foraging for that stuff someone mentioned cooking on another thread. The housing though was quite cheap. And my grocery expenses zero. And, above all, my permanent tooth cleaning expenses and toilet paper expenses were also zero. Covid related worry was nill.
