One of the Covid silver linings is that upstream rates are finally getting some attention.

I've been seeing good things about SpaceX's Starlink lately. It will be interesting to see how that project pans out.

https://www.starlink.com/
Starlink is now delivering initial beta service both domestically and internationally, and will continue expansion to near global coverage of the populated world in 2021.

During beta, users can expect to see data speeds vary from 50Mb/s to 150Mb/s and latency from 20ms to 40ms in most locations over the next several months as we enhance the Starlink system. There will also be brief periods of no connectivity at all. As we launch more satellites, install more ground stations and improve our networking software, data speed, latency and uptime will improve dramatically.

Dang, I'm spoiled. Anything less than 50mbps physically pains me (unless it is on my phone I guess).

Here is what I typically get even during peak times:

Below is mine.

Can you tell us what yours costs you?

I pay between $115 to $125 per month and that is ONLY phone and internet. No TV.

How do you get an upload speed so close to your download speed?

As you can see all I've ever experienced with both cable (and, previously DSL) were upload speeds that were a fraction of the download speeds.

Thanks

Vinny

Ahh the crazy 1990s, when were were excited at work to have a massive T1 pipe of 1.544Mbps...

$39 from WoW for 100Mbps, with about 10Mbps upload side.

Here's mine. I was really impressed by the Speed Test when I upgraded from 50 Mbps but that's all I was impressed with. Nothing else I connect to the internet has been noticeably faster....

I pay about $132 per month for TV, landline phone, internet. Verizon FiOS.
DNA has its own language (code), and language requires intelligence. There is no known mechanism by which matter can give birth to information, let alone language. It is unreasonable to believe the world could have happened by chance.
