Browne wrote extensively about stuff like this. I recall him saying that if you didn't use something like the PP you should diversify your cash between 3 different institutions that are regulated, insured, etc.
He was right. Anything is possible, and nothing turns out as expected.

I was in Jamaica for a few hours in 06. Went to meet a girl who didnt show up (can you imagine, with my charm?) Cab drivers aggressively pushing weed.
Security back at LAX was suspicious. Searched my bags and barely missed porn I had folded into a book. Last time I flew (aerophobia).
Anyway he should have been with Vanguard

He should have also had some physical gold.
Aside from Harry Browne, James rickards was right in this regard as well.
I still find the James Rickards portfolio fascinating.
