I cannot believe that I have never disclosed here that I also throw all my used clay litter into a huge mound in my yard (close to the compost pile).

After a period of time it decomposes to look dirt-like. Not for use with food but excellent to use for non-food plants, e.g., flowers, bushes.

I wish I could do that. I don’t think mine is clay, though. i’ll have to check. After trying all kinds of products, I settled on ‘World’s Best’ brand.

I used to buy the least expensive I could find at Stop & Shop. Then I read an online recommendation for this and have been using it since even though it is much more expensive. Three times as much?

I never detect any smells from it and it clumps excellently.

I am almost strictly vegetables. And, where I live ... nothing gets planted before early March.

I live in FL and grow year-round on my 1 acre homestead. Tomatoes, melons, lettuce, beans, broccoli, sunflowers, tobacco, peanuts. Plus I have a small orchard fruit trees: peach, fig, alvacado, citrus, plums, ect. Gardening is a great hobby. I also have 6 chickens. I eat 3 fresh eggs every morning for breakfast.

Nice! Never knew people grew any tobacco in their gardens.

I've been growing tomatoes, strawberries, cannabis, kale, and bush beans. I have a few apple and peach trees going too; they are more of a long term project. For the past two years, we only harvested a single apple but we enjoyed it as a family.

That is quite the spread, congratulations! How do the figs hold up in your humidity?
