You're a fan, too? Excellent. I posted some of his videos on this forum in the past, including Bloggingheads, but I don't remember it getting much traction. Maybe Xan or Tortoise.

I am far more of a reader than a video watcher. Demands too much attention. Unless it's something that I can just listen to while I'm doing something else that is not fully demanding of my mind so that I can actually hear most of what I am listening to.

Btw, in the comments of that wsj article, someone mentioned the targeting of Bon Appetit magazine because a non-Jewish woman wrote a recipe for Jewish pastries (Purim hamantashen). That was in pre-woke 2015, but Bon Appetit is fixing it as part of their Archive Repair Project. yikes.
I guess this falls under the wokist charge of cultural appropriation.

Earnings for grocery stores have always been tight. COVID didn’t erase that, even with the binge purchasing. Mandating an extra $5 an hour for all employees is a massive increase in operating costs. And some stores have a smaller margin than others, especially in areas where theft is high

Mostly they don't. This is why there's so much squawking about "food deserts" in slums where there are no grocery stores, only bodegas selling potato chips and malt liquor. So some blue districts/states passed enterprise zone legislation, where they offer effectively tax subsidies to stores willing to open in those areas. It all depends on whether the costs of the crime outweigh the subsidies. Either that, or on whether the franchisee is an idiot, which they probably are for taking that bait.
