Auto-rolling T-bills at Vanguard

Post by Tortoise »

In a Vanguard account, is there a way to auto-roll a T-bill that's about to reach maturity--i.e., schedule the money to be auto-invested in another T-bill so that it doesn't have any "down time" in the settlement account?

I've checked a couple of times, and there doesn't seem to be an obvious way to do it.

Been trying to find this myself, but no luck. I suppose buying every three to six months wouldn't be too much work (haven't bought any TBills directly myself yet).

Yeah, buying individual T-bills is pretty easy. I’ve just been doing it manually once or twice a year so far; only takes a few minutes each time.

Tbills auto-rolled at Fidelity today. So convenient.

Was reading the below of any concern to you? After reading it it almost left me wanting nothing to do with Treasury Direct!

Seems like you answered a question I asked earlier tonight. Unlike Fidelity, Vanguard does not seem to offer an auto-roll feature?
