I would think what would be really dangerous (and I hope he's guarding against) is saying "If XYZ happens then I'll definitely get out". I hope Ross is not 100% sure that if Trump is elected then there's a pardon. Trump says a lot of things.
Both Trump and Biden had the opportunity to issue a pardon and didn't. Who knows, maybe Harris would be more likely to pardon him than Trump.

That's true.
I have mixed feelings on the topic. On some days I think he should be released, on other days I think he deserves to be where he is.
