This is the most bizarre soccer thread I've ever seen.
How many other soccer threads have you read?dualstow wrote: This is the most bizarre soccer thread I've ever seen.

It wasn't. I had read some articles suggesting the two might pre-arrange a tie which made sense to me. So I mentioned that's what I expected or at least that both teams would play defensively and we'd get a 0-0 result.Harry.Browne wrote: I did not think that this thread is moving in this direction
Yes they were trying to get on a light-duty profile and get out of the next jungle exercise.barrett wrote: The K-Man was just writing about incentives which is what a lot of the threads on this forum are about.
K, when you played soccer in the army, did everyone collapse to the ground and writhe around in pain every few minutes?
No way you can be a scout in an all-male platoon in the light infantry and come out to play in shin guards!Fragile Bill wrote: Two words: shin guards.
It's okay to admit that you were wrong; in fact that might even promote civility in the forums. I admit that it's harder to do that the more certain you were in your original statements. Maybe it would help to dial back the certainty to something a smidgen under 100% on at least one thing?Kshartle wrote:It didn't turn out that way.
I also played soccer in the Army and let me tell you, it wasn't pretty. Almost nobody knew how to play the game and played like a bunch of elementary school kids. And then on the flip side there there was the British Major who did know how to play and got mad enough at me that he told me he would break both of my legs and nobody would even know how it happened. Fun times! (no, I didn't get my legs broken either)barrett wrote: K, when you played soccer in the army, did everyone collapse to the ground and writhe around in pain every few minutes?
