This thread seems to have veered off course of the original OP by a little bit. I used to read a lot on this forum regarding politics because I think it is interesting, but eventually as MG said, you'd have to be a pragmatist to get things completed.
I can say I'm not a big fan of taxes or government, etc. but in the end, I still pay my taxes, and try not get speeding tickets. Maybe if I was really motivated, I'd try to focus on fixing my local government versus federal. Federal I feel is just so difficult to get that behemoth to move in a new direction and would take years to decades to fix stuff.
