K,
Are you trying to say that Bilbo and Frodo were not real? This cuts deep.
I'm sorry barrett. There are a lot of people here who beleive something is real if you just believe it is. Therefore, stick around long enough and you can convince yourself Bilbo and Frodo are real.

I predict that this thread gets locked before page four, and Kshartle receives another 15-day ban.

I wonder what some of you guys think about how Muslim extremists routinely butcher innocent Muslim moderates. Can't accuse all of them of collaborating with the "imperialist" West.
This thread is pathetic, and if any new person has wandered in here, please know that we're not all gold-humping conspiracy theorists. Some of us just like Harry Browne's investing ideas.
P.S. Past western sins notwithstanding, Muslim terrorists need to be shot in the brain, not appeased, and Canada is a good ally that should be protected at all costs.

That is an extremely weak ad hominem attempt M. If it was a gnuine question then it would just be a red herring attempt. I'm sure you asked it in the hopes that we would reply with skepticism about the moon landing. That would prove something about our character and that would somehow dissprove some argument we've made.
That is an embarassingly bad attempt at refution of someone's points.
And your response is not a diversion or distraction? I was really asking an honest question to see if my sterotyping of conspiracy theorists was accurate or not. I guess it is. Reason I asked, I happened to be watching TV the morning of 9/11 and watched the plane fly into the second tower. I really don't think the TV coverage was a coverup for something more sinsister by the government (oops, I mean the collection of individuals who we voted in and/or anointed/appointed). Hey, but if you think the moon is made of swiss cheese and the towers were destroyed by a bunch of potheads ... go for it.

Dualstow,
You have made my day, week and month with this:
"... if any new person has wandered in here, please know that we're not all gold-humping conspiracy theorists. Some of us just like Harry Browne's investing ideas."

and this thread will end on that excellent note..
we don't mind discussions about terrorists or any other tricky and emotionally charged topics, but lets keep the conversation civil and intelligent....
we (that means you the forum members) have established an exceptionally high standard for avoiding aggression, personal attacks, unnecessary provocation and all the other forms of flame war communication..
lets keep that standard alive... i hate locking a potentially interesting thread
