Everything will be free. Free admission, free food, free drinks, unlimited booze, free healthcare, free Uber after the show if you’re stoned, free coupons to pay off your debt, free housing. All you have to do to get all the free stuff is have no proof of US citizenship.dualstow wrote: ↑Sun Jul 20, 2025 6:35 amCan’t wait to attend! As a side note: have you guys heard of the new Chromebook Plus standard?
We all know that early Chromebooks had a (well deserved) reputation for crappy specs. Google seems to have recognized this and have set a "Chromebook Plus" standard for manufacturers. To have this particular moniker associated with your product it has to meet a certain minimum bar of hardware beefiness.
I hopped on a good deal this weekend on such a system and have been impressed by it.

That looks like it’s all about Gemini. Can’t I just get an Artari 2600 & Chess?
No, seriously, the Mrs’ Dell is getting old and I might get her a Chromebook if she wants one.

What model did you get, Smithers?
I saw the Lenovo was just $250. As a Thinkpad fan, like you, I got curious. The reviews are good overall in terms of stars, but some say it slowed down after a using it a few times. Another said the touchscreen fails in various spots.
Maybe you got something fancier, like the HP?

A pretty sweet deal at $499 CAD from what I can tell. According to Google that's $366.90 USD.

Trump - Self proclaimed dummy?
Trump has recently said that he is "never going to let the dollar slide." The only way that could happen, he added, is "if you have a dummy" as president. The US dollar index - a measure of the US currency against various foreign currencies - has fallen 12.5% since his Inauguration Day.

Aren’t cast iron pans amazing?
I feel like I spend too much time re-oiling them but I really love the way they cook, both on the stovetop and in the oven.

What do you cook with, Vin?
I like stainless steel, too.
I got rid of my Calphalon after destroying it.

It actually does a decent job with potatoes and with broccoli. Or are you just heating up Taco Bell
Ours is getting senile though. And it’s a built-in. Not looking forward to replacing it.

Re: Daily "Check In" Thread For Us
Mine too... a while back we thought ours needed a replacement. It turns out it was just a breaker that got tripped. However, in the short time I thought it needed replacing, I discovered that doing so would cost me about 500 bucks. Ugh lol.
