I also liked XP, Windows 7 even more, and Windows 10 is the best. I currently use computers that, between them, run all three operating systems.

So you're not concerned with alleged security issues of running out of service OS? Anyone else want to share an opinion? I replaced the computers at work with Win10 as they were running slow and near death anyway, but the one at home running Win7 works great and I would hate to replace it until I have to if the 'risk' is not great.
I would upgrade. I think the security risk is real.
Agreed. But most likely, especially if you never run arbitrary applications written by who-knows-who, you're probably okay unless you're browsing the web. If so, the important thing is really your browser.
If you're using IE, then it's supported if your OS is supported. If your OS goes out of support, then it's possible that other browsers will continue to write for your OS for some time.
Personally, I never run an OS or browser that isn't supported. But then, upgrades are free for Linux.

I agree, plus the upgrade to Win10 is free.
I believe it was free for only the first year of its release. Now the only way I know of getting it for free is to go through the Windows Insider program.

Well, you’ve given me something to ponder here. I’m no rush to go back to Windows (left after XP, which I liked), but I think I should stick with the very capable High Sierra OS for now. If it isn’t broken, don’t fix it.
Maybe I’ll just back up using iTunes as Mountaineer did and continue to enjoy Veracrypt.
Thanks, guys.

More than one per computer?
No
The way I first wrote it I saw that it could be interpreted that way. Then I went back and added the "between them" to hopefully make it clearer that I had at least one computer running one of the programs but not all three on any.
Back in the old days when Windows was regularly dying the first thing I'd do with a new computer would be to install Windows 95, 98, ME and install all my programs in each operating system so in case one of the operating systems died, I could just continue working by jumping to another operating system.
Vinny
I should explain that I have multiple OSs on each of my computers.
1. My main computer, which is a mid-tower server running Windows 10, Ubuntu 19.10, and Windows Server 2019.
2. My laptop, which runs Windows 10, Ubuntu 19.10, and Windows Server 2016 (or maybe 2012, I don't recall).
3. My other tower machine, which runs Windows 10 and one of the Windows Servers (I think 2012).
I'm only running one OS at any given time on each machine, although I could set up a VM to run more than one at a time if I needed to do that for some reason.

Some of the computers running 7 don't have the specs to run 10, so I can't do an upgrade. the only option is to buy new PCs and reinstall all the software and configuration which is a pain.
How old are those computers? What specific CPUs / how much RAM do they have?
They must be quite old if they don't meet these minimums?
Processor: 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster processor or SoC
RAM: 1 gigabyte (GB) for 32-bit or 2 GB for 64-bit
Hard disk space: 16 GB for 32-bit OS or 20 GB for 64-bit OS

You can run Microsoft's Edge browser on a Mac now. I wonder if anyone does that.
Speaking of Edge. It absolutely kills this computer with a fast Intel i7 CPU. Which is why I'll more often use Chrome, which does not cripple my computer. Anyone else have a similar Edge experience? Also, I cannot get to a lot of places with Edge while I can with Chrome.

The newest version(s?) of Edge are just Chrome in a skin. So it might be worth another try.

Another try in which way? Windows 10 mandates updates and I'm assuming every time it does an update it is also updating to the latest version of Edge. I still use Edge regularly but only for certain tasks (like this Forum).

Rather than using an "unsorted list" you could use a hash table like the one described on my website www.threemisses.com.
Then you don't need a quantum computer, just a regular computer, to get O(1) access times with an upper bound of three random memory accesses.
(BTW, I'm looking for beta testers if anyone is interested. No NDA or other paperwork needed, just download the library and play with it or use it in your own project.)
Sounds interesting. Does the Shazam app use hash tables to look up songs?

I looked it up and they do indeed use a hash table.
BTW, "millions of songs" is a tiny database by my standards, although the total number of samples is probably quite a bit higher than that. I've tested my hash table to 15 billion records and its latency is flat at just about 1 microsecond per record from 1 billion to 15 billion.

dualstow, your sig reminds me of Tom Hanks' character Robert Langdon in the movie Inferno.
An underrated movie IMO.
I don’t know the film, but I recognize the character name from The DaVinci Code story.

Shekels’ sig says gold 1300. I see 1500 —?
Maybe that’s part of your desired Buy Price, but you’ve got a period there.
Within a Year is my guess
But I have no clue on timing.
I would like to see it drop to 1000, But my buy order is in at 1325.

1325 is not a price I would buy at. That is just below a very strong support line. If we get there, it means further breakdown is likely. Personally, I'm a buyer of gold between 1350 and 1400. That area should be strong support. I really don't think we will break below that. So I'm willing to buy there. If we break down from 1350, I would be more inclined to sell gold than buy gold as odds are we would see another 10-20% drop from there. Fundamentally though, I have a hard time seeing a possibility where we break down below 1350. All those hoping to buy gold at 1000-1100 are basically practicing wishful thinking imo.

Well you may be right, but looking at the price swings and the last 5 years pricing there is support at 1300.
Of course that may not mean a d** thing in this Market, but again that is my guess.
But if it does go to 1000 I will be catching falling knives and not be to worried.

I agree, at 1000 I would be backing up the bus, as with golds fundamentals increasing by the day, that price would be too good to be true.
