Yep, a liar is the worst. That's one of the most destructive attributes a person can have

If Freud were around, he might suggest you add fiber to your diet, because this may be your subconscious way of telling yourself you need a release. And another thing, absolutely nothing biden has said or done has even remotely approached the level of batshit crazy as the conspiracy theories that regularly spew forth out of the right. I'm soooo damn tired of listening to their horseshit cockamamie theories that aren't supported by a shred of evidence.
Sometimes victory can be a curse.tomfoolery wrote: ↑Wed Nov 04, 2020 11:42 pmDon't stress. Looks like you win. Biden is getting NV and AZ. Biden will take office eventually, once the Trump recounts and fraud investigation dies down. Congrats, man.doodle wrote: ↑Wed Nov 04, 2020 11:36 pmYeah, I'm worked up. There is a Chinese story of a farmer who used an old horse to till his fields. One day, the horse escaped into the hills and when the farmer's neighbors sympathized with the old man over his bad luck, the farmer replied, "Bad luck? Good luck? Who knows?" A week later, the horse returned with a herd of horses from the hills and this time the neighbors congratulated the farmer on his good luck. His reply was, "Good luck? Bad luck? Who knows?"
Then, when the farmer's son was attempting to tame one of the wild horses, he fell off its back and broke his leg. Everyone thought this very bad luck. Not the farmer, whose only reaction was, "Bad luck? Good luck? Who knows?"
Some weeks later, the army marched into the village and conscripted every able-bodied youth they found there. When they saw the farmer's son with his broken leg, they let him off. Now was that good luck or bad luck?
Who knows?
Everything that seems on the surface to be an evil may be a good in disguise. And everything that seems good on the surface may really be an evil.

Okay, scraping still?
I watched the video a dozen times. There's definitely cognitive trunalimunumaprzure going on.
For me, don't care. Biden can slurp his pea soup through a straw and spend the rest of the afternoon drooling on himself in the oval office. Do I wish it was someone else in the white house? Sure! But if the choice is between Trump and a senile old man who pees himself to sleep? I'll take the later.glennds wrote: ↑Thu Nov 05, 2020 3:23 pmDo you think he genuinely thought she was Beau?tomfoolery wrote: ↑Wed Nov 04, 2020 11:18 pm

I get it. Listen, I think Biden's gaffes can be funny too. I just wasn't sure how deeply others feel his alleged dementia runs.Tortoise wrote: ↑Thu Nov 05, 2020 3:26 pm Biden didn't actually believe that his granddaughter was his deceased son. He just took way too long to realize his verbal slip, and the recovery was awkward.
It was a funny video clip. Some of the posts here in the Politics sub-forum are intended mainly for laughs rather than serious philosophical discussion.
There are two of us really old guys who regularly play basketball. We look nothing alike. The majority of the players are 25 or younger. Many times some of them will call me the other old guy's name. I just write it off that in their mind we are old guys and don't put much effort into distinguishing between us, like keeping our actual names straight.

I would have never voted for Warren or Bernie. That were not in my 5-10. My top four were: Amy K, Pete B, Tulsi G, and Andrew Y. Of the others you mentioned Booker would have been acceptable. ALL far superior to Biden in so many ways.MangoMan wrote: ↑Thu Nov 05, 2020 7:58 pmOkay, whatever. But Warren was awful. Bernie was awful. DeBlasio beyond awful. After Clyburn gave his (weighty) endorsement to Biden that led to Biden winning South Carolina and creating enough momentum so that no one else could keep up with him. I believe that absent that endorsement Biden would NOT have won the primaries. It's too conjectural for me to say who would have then won because it would have been a whole different set of dynamics. I would have enthusiastically voted for one of the 5-10 other primary candidates if that person had been the final candidate.

Mayor Pete maybe a bit less bad and Tulsi semi-tolerable but still not great.
I'd not equate "really good" and "awesome" as being equivalent. I would have been quite happy to have had any of my top four. All seemed serious, hard working, intelligent. Able to handle the job.MangoMan wrote: ↑Thu Nov 05, 2020 8:52 pmSo were any of them really good? When I revealed on Facebook that for the first time since I started voting in 1972 that I was NOT voting for the Democratic presidential candidate and was, instead, writing in Tulsi H, I was accused of being a horrible person and voting for Trump!
