Does the crypto market crash precipitate broader market crash?

I ask because now that crypto is owned by companies like tesla, one of the big drivers of the s&p 500.

Supposedly the drop in crypto is due to China's moves to ban financial and payment institutions from providing cryptocurrency services. Could just be a temporary drop and perhaps Tesla is in it for the long term.

Evidently major stock indexes like the S&P500 and NASDAQ dropped sharply on May 10-11, a couple of days before Bitcoin started its sharp decline.
