How would a PP perform if the US was "cancelled"?

Watching the world cancel Russia and remove them from all financial markets brings up a question. I do not have physical gold; I have it in ETF form. If the world ever decided to cancel the US and cut us off for some transgression (or for electing Trump again) , how would a PP hold up if it is all in ETF form? Obviously your home stocks will tank as Russia's have. When the markets re-open, what happens to your gold, treasury and foreign stock holdings since they are all traded on your home exchange that is in such turmoil?

Two very good questions, as ‘how would a gold etf perform’ is quite different from ‘how would a pp perform.’ You can’t cancel physical gold.

COMEX might fail, 100x paper gold to physical gold and a 'physical gold-rush' might see the value of physical gold rise at least four-fold in real terms.

A difficulty would be in timing when/how-much physical gold to sell

This article's three years old but does put things in perspective:

Texas alone has a bigger economy than Russia - and Russia has nothing without petroleum exports.

And consider California's economy is almost double Texas'. I think it's safe to say the world can't afford to "cancel" the US.

2 things.

1) John McCain used to jokingly refer to Russia as a gas station masquerading as a country?

2) Ukraine is about the size of Texas?
