I've reached FIRE except the E really isn't. I'm almost 64. But I'm still happy to be FIR.

Let me look at my ticker... I retire in 248 days.

I hope you are well!

1) My life is so much better than it was when I was working full time. I'm unstressed, my relationships are better and I can focus on the things I enjoy.

2) I still do two jobs: I run a large garden or small farm to supply my local food pantry with as much fresh produce as I can; I am not paid for this, it's a labor of love. I also do food delivery ~6 hours a week which covers all of my expenses. This lets my portfolio continue to grow so that when I die, there's a big pot of money for the next guy to try and make the world a better place.

I'm hoping that you get to a similar place as soon as possible!

I'm wondering how six hours a week of delivery pays all of your expenses. That's a good place to be. Did you need to lay out some capital to get to that state, e.g. solar setup to eliminate electricity expense.

Yep, you got it. Tiny home built for my climate, solar panels, grow most of my own food, hobbies that are free. Oh and sweet sweet Obamacare of course .

Well, you've inspired me. First step for me is switching from gas+oil+electricity for heat to wood. I'm going to try to get this done before the winter.
