Target Dated Bond ETFs

Would this be a good alternative for the cash component? It appears to cash you out with your original investment at the target date plus earning yield.

I wouldn't want to pay commissions to buy this kind of "cash". I'd just buy bonds commission-free at Fidelity. Or put money into a savings account.

You could buy municipal zeroes with specific maturities, but I dont think they are a good substitute for pp-cash, nor is the Gugg.ETF.
Perhaps you could look into a
0-3 year treasury ladder like Lone Wolf is using.
