And now for some happy news! :D

Polar bears and other Arctic animals are shifting their distributions toward icier regions, according to new research suggesting that at least some species are attempting to adapt to climate-related changes in their habitat, such as dramatic losses of sea ice.

I don't see why it should be surprising at all that life adapts to a changing environment.  Doomsday climate forecasts that assume it cannot are like static CBO scoring that deliberately ignores the impact of incentives in order to achieve the politically desired conclusion.

Rate of change certainly matters.  Lets drop you in the arctic with no supplies and see how fast you adapt.
