I thought about it, but I would only join if Craig and MediumTex started it as a backup for here. They've already put so much into this forum, and I like the format. Plus, I actually got work done when the forum was down!

To be honest, it seems a little tacky to continually advertise your own personally-controlled venue for the very same discussion on somebody else's personally-controlled message board. Yes, this forum doesn't have 100% uptime, but hey, it seems like pretty soon Google+ is going to have 0% uptime

Using real names isn't gonna inspire anyone to sign up and use Google+ in yet another tracking scheme... part of the allure here is the relative anonymity.
