Remember threads like this one about security lending in TLT?

I just saw this thread about Vanguard and the lending of securities. Is this the same thing, and is it just something we're all going to have to put up with?

My understanding is nearly all funds do this, but there are significant differences.  AFAICT, Vanguard's lending practices are extremely conservative - they loan out only a small portion of a fund's assets, and they don't do anything even remotely risky with the cash collateral they hold while the assets are loaned out.  In contrast, TLT (in particular) is not quite so conservative.

Just one of the reasons why institutional diversification is a recommended practice within the PP.
