For rare coins atleast, transaction costs absurd! My off the top of my head estimate is that spreads are in the 30% range and then there are auction fees that can add another 15-18% to the equation. Also keep in mind that the major coin indexes I have looked at include many pieces that cost upwards of 100k each which means a fund (and even more expenses) for the average investor.Libertarian666 wrote:I'd like to see the bid-ask spread on those other "investments".
