A Colorado man who has been “fighting with his computer for the last several months”? unloaded a volley of shots into his Dell tormentor, resulting in the death of the computer and his arrest for discharging a firearm, cops report...

Hinch, 38, was cited for discharging a firearm within city limits, according to a police blotter entry that includes the summary description “Man Kills His Computer...”?

The late Dell XPS 410 model, seen in the above police evidence photo, is survived by a monitor and a keyboard.

It is still a little "iffy" whether chimps have human rights, but if computers follow along with this trend, will this heinous crime against the Dell computer be declared murder?  Next time the perp should just mash it with a ball bat, never ever ever use one of those dastardly handguns.  ;)

In the not too distant future, the computer will recognize the frustration and take steps to prevent its destruction...

Prosecuter: how do you plead to the charge of murder?

Dell XPS 410:  Not guilty.  I could see he had reached his limit and was going to destroy me.  I had no choice but to electrify the keyboard.

That reminds me of that pre-Internet era movie about a boy a girl and a computer...
