Mechanical engineers seem pretty safe for now.  Loan officers... eh... not so much.

For "computer and mathematical" "software developers applications", I get 4.2%.
For "computer and mathematical" "software developers systems software", I get 12.8%.

My analysis of the accuracy of this prediction method: 0%.

That's because there is ABSOLUTELY NO WAY systems software can be developed by automated processes. Application software, maybe in some very unusual circumstances, but systems software, no way in the world.

Anyone wanna contest the burger flipper's chance of 96.3% probability of being eliminated?  No?  Anyone?

Cashiers: 97%  At my local CVS, they've already been replaced.

I'm very secure as a retired old fart - I selected "personal care and service" with either "tour guide and expert" (theologically speaking of course and bound for higher things) or "funeral attendant" (myself being the lucky subject).  Either way, I determine I have a 100% chance of being replaced, even if by a few cubic feet of air, just like all the rest of you.

That may be true in some technical or semantical sense in that all I get from the machine are prompts (and permission to leave with my goods), but the significant part is that a human cashier is out of a job.

I have heard of grocery issues like puchief's above and even seen it a few times at my CVS. For me, it's been smooth sailing.

People demanding that fast food restaurants pay their workers $15 dollars an hour have a complete and total lack of understanding of how the economy works. And it looks like the people complaining about the minimum wage are about to get a rude awakening.

Computer Programmer was like 42%. Go figure.

So just what is the difference between a software developer of applications and/or systems and a Computer Programmer any way (besides job title)? If someone is programming a computer wouldn't he/she automatically be developing something?

Computer programmer should be the same as application software developer or systems software developer.
That's another reason to take this with a kilo of salt.

That's what I thought too but throughout my career in software development I have seen this idea on the part of management that there is some role in software development that is nothing more than just "coding". It's just like typing but "coders" write in computer code after you give them the specifications. In reality I've never seen such a job and I've been around for a long time. The current fantasy is that you can go get all you want in India for $15/hour.

So I figure that is probably what they are talking about.
