Why is an '85 sovereign $712 at the UK mint?

I tend to buy bullion from U.S. dealers that I can sell at the same dealers for cash, e.g. krugerrands, American eagles.

This question is about a proof coin, but's a sovereign nonetheless, not a half sovereign.
Here it is: http://www.royalmint.com/shop/The_Sovereign_1985
458 pounds sterling is a bit over US$700 right now.  EDIT: and for posterity, gold is US$1137/ounce right now.

If you want to buy a gold buffalo proof from the U.S. Mint, it's way over spot. At least, last time I checked.
Just curious.
What am I missing? Are sovereigns smaller than eagles?

Ok, I think they're smaller. Carry on.

Yup - a little less than 1/4 of an oz.  .235420 to be exact.
