"Sure, that glass looks half-empty, or maybe half-full, but it doesn't matter. Believe me, once you drink it, you will say that it was the most phenomenal drink of water you've ever had your life. People be lining up for miles to drink water I provide for people, and they'll all be saying the same thing! They won't care whether the glass is half-full or half empty because they will realize how awesome the water was!"

Nobody I can think of here has NOT uttered a bad word about Obama. Perhaps you're confusing adoration with simply thinking that someone is perhaps no better or worse than most of his corrupt predecessors.

No better or worse? Oh right. The old, tired liberal moral relativism argument again. Obama is the same as Reagan. Iran is the same as Israel. Illegal immigrants are the same as legal ones. Criminals are the same as noncriminals. Gay marriage is the same as traditional marriage. Ad nauseum.

Debt is the same as surplus? Who the hell says that?

You said some haven't "uttered a bad word." You are wrong. We all have. We can disagree on the historical within which we should place his ineptitude, but perhaps just admit you're wrong and lay off your hyperbolic buffoonery for once in your existsnce on this board.

Besides, we all know Reagan was far worse than Obama. They're not the same.

It's totally reasonable to focus on Obama. What is unreasonable is to pretend he's a unique threat. New boss... Same as the old boss.

Obama may be a "unique threat" to certain things; if those are your big issues, it's reasonable that you might think Obama is worse than other presidents who were "unique threats" to other things. I agree with your general point that they're all bad, but let's not pretend they're all bad in the same ways. Obama just killed the Keystone pipeline but normalized relations with Cuba. One person might think both of those things are great, and another might conclude that these are terrible decisions.

Yes and no.

Obama: The glass only appears to contain water. Glass and water are both clear. My policies are clear. Thus, my policies can be compared to a clear glass of clear water; the situation is quite fluid and I will determine the correct definition of the situation, generally speaking about probable outcomes. You may not understand my policies, even though they are quite clear, but I maintain that since I am a legend in my own mind, the unwashed masses will come to my way of clearly seeing what others are incapable of ascertaining, even though it is completely clear. Now, to talk a bit about something really important - my latest golf trip, the one where I bowed down to the village idiot that raised a clear glass of water .......

There is a difference between just saying crazy stuff to see how people will react and saying things that might sound crazy, but which actually push the discussion forward.
Saying that no one here is critical of Obama IMHO doesn't push the discussion forward.
Some of your recent posts sound like a guy telling his wife her ass looks big because he thinks she's cute when she's mad. However fun that sort of thing might be to do in a moment of boredom, it's corrosive to harmony in the relationship.

Oh my. That was spot-on.

Too much of a stretch?

You forgot the part where the water remaining can't be private property because it's naturally occurring, so get your damn eyes off it unless you want to pay me my damn citizen's dividend.
This could get fun.

Don't forget that the glass was blown from sand that was also naturally occurring. Turning that sand into glass reduced the amount of sand available in the world commons by X%, so the glassmaker owes every living human an amount of money equal to X% of his profit divided by the percentage of all humans who ever lived who are that person's ancestors.
It's only fair.

And I think we are very quickly answering Fred's question.
