Yet another reason to end the Fed.

You really should study history more.  The Fed is 99% clearinghouse/regulatory, 1% currency (as in actual FRN's printed up by the Bureau at Fed's direction for banking members that demand it for customer withdrawals).  How much do they matter in terms of size of assets to the total economy?  I don't think you would like the answer.  Think Wizard of Oz, my friend.

Wealth isn't in the form of money used.  I don't know how ISIS runs their economy but with apostates fleeing left and right from their territory and with their government bureau positions unfilled to run their society, they can have all the gold in the world and it won't do them one damn iota of good.  Let them have their gold dinar.  Let them demand payment for their oil in gold.  Who's going to live with them, work for them or trade with them other than a small minority of True Believers?  They're simply not going anywhere and even all the gold in the world (which won't happen either) won't prevent their self-destruction.

As usual, all you have demonstrated is that you have no understanding of money.

Don't feel bad, though; 99%+ of the population is in the same boat as you. The difference is only that most of them don't think they understand money.

Yep, as usual, everyone but you is wrong. ::)  Why do I bother...

Ironically, Browne himself had a better understanding of what money really is and how it works way back in 1969 than you do in 2015.  If he's your idol in any way shape or form, you owe it to yourself!

You know, it is pretty easy to disprove that gold is the only form of money just by looking at the countries that went from nothing to riches without ever using it.  Case closed.

I'm no savant but I think, along with gold, this issue is the fractional reserve system of lending and the hegemony of the dollar. This greedy system helps gives ballast to the religious and economic underpinnings of the jihad anger. The west can reform our current system to be less greedy, more just, which may be the best we can do without reverting to a gold /barter system- which is very inefficient. I agree with MG that money is a metaphysical concept, although I do like to hold shiny yellow coins.  Also, I hope MG is right about the pending internal collapse of ISIS.

I hope I didn't say "pending".  Not anytime soon, I fear!
