Mob action in chicago helps trump...is my guess. Silent majority will speak loudly.

If people are that angry and hateful living in an incredibly prosperous, peaceful and mostly free country, imagine how they would do in Stalin's Soviet Union or even in Abraham Lincoln's United States.Desert wrote:I agree.murphy_p_t wrote: Mob action in chicago helps trump...is my guess. This country is packed full of angry, hateful people, unfortunately. Here's one at the Chicago rally tonight. Maybe she's a Hillary plant, but I kinda doubt it. Check out the comments stream on youtube sometime ... It's amazing to watch the n-words and expletives flow by. This country is full of hateful, angry Trump supporters. And some smart ones too (though I think they might just be faking it and doing some kind of sociological study).

Re: Mid-March Presidential Election Poll
The popularity of Trump and before him Obama pretty clearly shows that the public does crave a pleasing narrative. Half the job of president is to be a kind of "national psychiatrist-in-chief," as described by Fareed Zakaria. One can pooh-pooh it, or acknowledge it. Clearly this is important to America's cultural psyche. We ought to ask why that is. If the answer is that when everything sucks for such a long time that we turn to fantasy and escapism on all levels--including political--perhaps that ought to give us pause against electing someone who's a member of the class of people that, politically speaking, created and nurtured this environment of depressing stagnation.
Human behavior is economic behavior. The particulars may vary, but competition for limited resources remains a constant.

I voted for Hillary (in your poll, not in real life).
Donald is edgy and risky, while Hillary is safe and boring. After another 8 months of the circus, people will be exhausted and looking for safe and boring.
