I think we have heard that before, especially from the wise guru, Harry Browne. One question though: if one were to store gold out of the country, one would need to go over there to get it, if needed, right? Should we trust the US Mail to send it to us???? What if we were not able, for one reason or another to travel to said country? Thoughts?

Keep it in a few places:

1) ETF, for trading and simplicity
2) Bank safety deposit box, for physicality without keeping too much wealth in your home
3) Your home... somewhere both safe but somewhat unexpected... maybe in 2 spots, one being your safe (one that is anchored to the ground or very large gun safe), and another spot (buried by a shed or in the back of a closet.

I really see holding it overseas as being overkill.
"Men did not make the earth. It is the value of the improvements only, and not the earth itself, that is individual property. Every proprietor owes to the community a ground rent for the land which he holds."

Not sure. I believe there are offshore precious metals transporters who can arrange it. But, I can't say if any of them are reputable or if it's actually legal.

The idea of traveling to various cities and opening up an anonymous account at a place like this...

...sure sounds intriguing. Cool video on that site. (Supposedly you can purchase gold philharmonics right from the local banks in Austria.) But, I'm sure the US government is cracking down on that tactic. I've never really looked into it, and probably won't any time soon. But, it would be pretty cool to have gold stored in various locations around the globe.
