JM Bullion has 10 oz bars on sale for .29 cents over spot. I hate these evil bastards. They are like pushers waving my drug of choice under my nose at a cut rate price.

Silver is not doing well at all in the present crisis and is hugely underperforming gold. I suspect this is largely due to silver's dual nature as both a precious and industrial metal. In any situation that is likely to have broadly negative ramifications for the economy, demand for industrial metals will fall. Current silver/gold price ratio is 92:1.

I personally like the 1 kilo bars. Here is one to covet.

https://www.jmbullion.com/1000-gram-pam ... ilver-bar/

Also, I think the price of silver may go up because from my laymen's research it seems like the cost of producing silver is somewhere in the range of 12 to 15 dollars. At that price as the miners go bust the demand will start to exceed supply - pushing the price up. No idea how high but right now it seems cheap.

Wow, that is a big drop indeed.
Silver is antibacterial, but apparently not antiviral.

This is a good example of silver's weakness. Being an industrial metal is weighing heavily on it with the global economy is going into full panic mode.

On 18/03 I bought quite some silver ETF shares (if I have to be precise - VZLC).
Normally, I step lightly in such occasions given the invested amount, but simply was not able to resist those 2009-ish price levels... And IMHO that might be quite close to the bottom this asset can have relevant to the current USD buying power (unless people realize they can't eat silver, but that's far too pessimistic scenario). Today there's a good increase, but honestly I do not count on those short term +/- fluctuations..

Don't mention this on bogleheads or they will be CERTAIN to inform people that they can't eat silver!

I was just reviewing this thread viewtopic.php?f=10&t=8759&start=24 in which you said
Being an aimless dreamer, I set my silver buy at $15
(page 3)

Silver has been an interesting ride. As I type, the spot price is $12.64 and maybe _____ each to actually buy 10oz
(Oop, I can’t fill in today’s price because it’s out of stock)

Promise, I will not. Stopped attending their forum once I realized (unfortunately, and not that I am ill) I may enjoy not that long life. And I think, long life is a must-have if one decide to follow their "common sense" advice. ;D
