I was topping up my PP this week (bought stock and gold) when the BofE announced more QE literally minutes before I was about to buy gilts (LT's), prices shot up to some ridiculous all time high , so I didn't buy.
Consequently I'm light on LTs at about 21%.
Looking at LT prices during the last lot of UK QE (MAR 2009 I think) it looks as if prices spiked for a month then fell, but prices are so volatile I might be kidding myself with that analysis.
Any thoughts on whether I should recalculate, hold my nose and buy or wait a while ?
Caught out by UK QE announcement
