Imagining buying a new car is implicit environmental racism. If I (a normal person) know that, then you (a long time Democrat) should.
Show some compassion for the descendants of cultures with replacement-level fertility who will have to inherit that kind of world.

You there, Ephialtes. May you live forever.
Re: Buying Union Made Items
Adam Smith wrote about this in The Wealth of Nations. Corporations have more bargaining power than individual employees when it comes to wages. As such, it is generally to the benefit of labourers to unionize.
I personally don't see how someone who is a "rightist" (to borrow your term) would be inherently unsupportive of the idea of unionizing. Workers are exercising their ability to assemble, associate, and negotiate on their own behalf. That's perfectly in keeping with a free market philosophy.

Currently paying homage to the Intel Celeron in my avatar—the processor that allowed a low-income family like mine to afford a computer in the '90s.

I agree.
Chicago is now seeing unprecedented inflows of families moving to their school districts.
The educational quality is off the charts because of the Chicago teachers union.

Tom, if you want to be a new Democrat like me, you need to get with the times.
Our guy Joe B says to let China make and sell us things. They are good allies, and need our help more than our workers do. As to the union guys who produce real stuff, Joe says they just need to learn to code. I'm sure he's right. I just take it all on faith. Well, that, and the Washington Post said so. And LeBron James too. All the cool people are saying it.

The money and working conditions in the suburbs are a different world, I'm sure.MangoMan wrote: ↑Sat Mar 20, 2021 11:02 amChicago already had one of the worst school systems in the country prior to Covid. It's hard to believe the union managed to drag them down further, yet they did. I'm not sure why they don't just fire them all and hire a new crew.whatchamacallit wrote: ↑Sat Mar 20, 2021 6:39 am I agree.

I'm also not sure why it's such a problem in big cities. Many suburbs here have managed to work with the teachers unions relatively well.

1. CPS exists for the grifters on the system, not to provide education.
2. The elected officials are not working for the taxpayer (presumed customer). They are working for the grifters, and the perpetuation of the system.

Here is a 2.5 minute video of actual teacher demands. Or it could be the Babylon Bee. We report, you decide.
