it could be , it has a cash hoard and typically it has at least one asset class that is up and can be rebalanced to raise cash .

i wouldn’t use it for a bank account to pay daily bills , but if i need money for a wedding off a number of years or school off in a number of years , if would be fine for raising some cash .

again , i wouldn’t use it with the intent of liquidating it for a short term need but pulling some cash out for a specific use in the nearer future would be fine

That would be an example of an oxymoron in the dictionary?
Above provided by: Vinny, who always says: "I only regret that I have but one lap to give to my cats." AND "I'm a more-is-more person."

Wellesley, 50/50 stock/bond, 20/80 Small Cap Value/PP (Golden Butterfly), 24/76 Mid Cap/PP (19% in each of the four PP assets) ... and each/any of those would have been 'satisfactory' for many https://www.portfoliovisualizer.com/bac ... gWGUtjBbeT
